Should I accept Linkedin invitations from people I don’t know?

A: This is a great question and there are two parts to my recommendation on what to do.

This question usually reflects a reactive approach on LinkedIn rather than a proactive strategy. I urge you to care more about whom it is you want to connect with on LinkedIn and how you are making those connections happen.  Once you have identified who is your target then invest your time and energy on implementing your connection strategy.

So for those people who approach you I recommend you review their profiles and make a judgement call on whether you want to connect with them. Minimise the time spent on this review and decision. Do keep in mind a large and diverse network is an asset for your business and your life.

Please email me with your questions and I’ll answer them in future e-newsletters. Thanks!
